Someone who is day-dreaming may be described as being in a trance and we all daydream at times. This is a natural state of focused, absorbed attention. Hypnotic trance is the intentional creation and extension of this normal state so that it is held over a longer period of time. In this state, you feel physically and mentally relaxed without the internal and external intrusions which normally crowd into mind. This captured attention can then be directed towards perceptions that lead to confidence, well-being, positive thinking and the achievement of desired goals.
Hypnotherapy requires your full co-operation and you will be aware of what is being said. You will not accept any suggestions which are contrary to your own values or standards and you will not do or say anything unwillingly or unintentionally.
Hypnotherapy promotes a feeling of general calmness and confidence and this can also be directed towards specific areas of difficulty. It can be used in the treatment of a wide range of problems or the achievement of desired goals.
The focus can be confined to the present or can include regression to earlier events in your life.
